Unshackle me, Untether me

Let me be me!

This one thing do not deny,

Free my wings, I need to fly..

Such a heavy price to pay for “Security”,

Safe and sound, boring inactivity!

Unshackle me, Untether me,

Let me be – “unsafe” and free!!

Bound by the chains of everyday monotony,

The very life essence is fading of your ‘safe’ tyranny!

Freedom of choice, Freedom of Expression,

Right to be - without inhibitions!

I just want to walk my walk

Funny, may it be!

These doors must unlock,

Let in the sunlight melody..

It is quite simple as you might know,

Devoid of free light – a sapling won’t grow!

Gnawing at my shackles, as my mouth bleeds,

Helpless may I be, I won’t let it succeed!
